Hünegg Castle

The Hünegg Castle is a castle from the 19th century in the municipality Hilterfingen on Lake Thun in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. The castle is a park with old trees.

Location and History

The Castle is a stately manor with a rare, original interior. The lively atmosphere of the household gives the impression that the owners were only briefly absent.

The castle was designed by German architect Heino forging and built from 1861 to 1863 for the Baron Albert von Parpart in the style of historicism with forms of the Renaissance castles of the Loire. The house was easily expanded in 1900 by Gustav Lemke -Schuckert and partly large newly decorated in Art Nouveau style. The interior is characterized by exquisite, precious materials and sumptuous furnishings.

In the castle there is a museum for home decor Historicism and Art Nouveau.

Exhibitions

The castle as well as the castle park are available for changing exhibitions. There, the special cable cars found for example in 2012 and 2013 respectively from May to October.
