Hydra is the sixth album by the Dutch band Within Temptation. It was released through Roadrunner Records on the 22nd January 2014.
Album Name
The name of the album refers to the ancient myth of the Hydra. Guitarist Robert Westerholt said: " Hydra is the perfect title for the new album, because just like the monster album represents the many different sides of our music " ( Hydra is a perfect title for our new album, Because like the monster Itself, the record Represents the many different sides of our music).
Reception
In the German trade press Hydra was very well received. In particular, the consistent further development of her own style and collaboration with Xzibit and Tarja Turunen received an honorable mention, though Powermetal.de would banish this piece best of the disc. Also International received good reviews the album, Metal Storm called Hydra, not as the best album, but as " another pearl in the necklace that create these talented musicians ."
