Hyperactivity

Hyperactivity (derived from Ancient Greek ὑπέρ hyper " about" and the Latin agere, actum "act", " be active " ) is one of those affected not sufficiently controllable, overactive behavior. Starting from inner restlessness, it manifests itself usually in the form of restlessness and " excessive reactions ".

Hyperactivity is a symptom of various mental disorders (eg, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, autism) and some somatic diseases (eg hyperthyroidism, Angelman syndrome).

The differential diagnosis to distinguish them is primary urge to move, as in restless legs syndrome and akathisia.
