Hypogastric nerve

The hypogastric nerves (Latin nervus and hypogasticus Latinized, hypo from Greek ὑπό, under ' and γαστήρ gaster, belly ', ' lower abdomen nerve ') is a nerve of the autonomic nervous system, especially the sympathetic nervous system. The hypogastric nerves arises when people on both sides of the superior hypogastric plexus, in most other mammals directly from the mesenteric ganglion caudal and moves left and right in the pelvic cavity, where he, along with the parasympathetic fibers of the vagus pelvinus and other sympathetic fibers to inferior hypogastric plexus forms. The hypogastric nerve is responsible for the sympathetic innervation of the pelvic viscera. The sympathetic nervous system inhibits the emptying of the urinary bladder ( urinary incontinence ), and lowers the peristalsis of the rectum. In male mammals, it ensures the ejaculation.
