I'm from Barcelona

I'm from Barcelona is an indie pop band from Jönköping, Sweden. The band was founded by Emanuel Lundgren in 2005 and consists of 30 members. Characteristic of the musicians ' collective is the use of rarely uttered in the classic pop instruments such as saxophone, banjo, tuba, or mandolin.

History

From the band's inception until the release of the first EP took only a few weeks. After Emanuel Lundgren wrote some pop songs in the summer of 2005, he gathered 29 friends in our own recording studio. Shortly after the material was presented live with all the musicians under the name of I'm from Barcelona. The band's name refers to the iconic British series Fawlty Towers, in which the Spanish waiter Manuel his clumsiness with the phrase " I'm from Barcelona " excused. After some hype in the blogosphere and the Swedish media were aware of the band, which led to a record deal with major label EMI.
