I'm Going to Tell You a Secret

I'm Going to Tell You a Secret is the name of the second tour documentary of the artist Madonna and the accompanying CD (CD- length 65 min 59 sec ).

Background

As successors of the tour documentary In Bed with Madonna from 1991, this deals with the background of the sold-out "Re -invention World Tour" from 2004, but to let less controversial and manipulative represent Madonna, by its own account, in contrast to its predecessor tried their everyday life on tour.

The film shows the path from the initial conception of the tour, about the auditions by dancers and musicians across the sample, up to the sold-out opening night and the subsequent controversial visit to Israel. As in In Bed with Madonna that are " behind- the-scenes shots " shown again in black and white and the live songs in color.

Film director Jonas Akerlund accompanied the tour and produced a film that was considered by the first critics to praise - but it seemed to the religious message of the Kabbalah devotee sometimes very intrusive. For this reason, a premiere was canceled at the film festival in Cannes 2005 - and also the planned theatrical release completely discarded. In fact, turn in the film repeatedly " prayers " again, which, however, have less to do with God as personalem counterpart as a appeal be provided to the psychological dynamics of the group self-promotion of the artist and their value beliefs. Madonna was at that time in the production of her album Confessions on a Dance Floor - and they wanted to wait until after the public response before you wanted to use the film on. In October 2005 it was decided to support the new album with a TV airing of the documentary on MTV, where it was successfully aired in several countries.

The documentation (working title Re - Invented Process) was released on 6 June 2006 on DVD / CD.
