I Am Kloot
I Am Kloot are an English band from Manchester, which was founded in 1999. She plays indie-rock, often with acoustic instrumentation.
Band History
John Bramwell worked at Club Night & Day as a concert organizer and met the other two band members later Andy Hargreaves and Pete Jobson know.
The first concert the band played in 1999 in the full Night & Day. This was followed by several singles. Their first album was released in 2001 Natural History and was praised in the British press: Among other things, the NME Bramwells compared songwriting skills with those of Morrissey and Stuart Murdoch ( Belle and Sebastian ); the mood of the record was as between self-hatred, cynicism and tenderness described swaying and the plant received 8 out of 10. Producer of Natural History, Guy Garvey of the band Elbow.
The second album, I Am Kloot appeared two years later and was produced by Ian Broudie. It placed on rank 68 in the UK album charts. In 2005, the band went on tour in the United States, a short time later they released their third album, Gods and Monsters. This album contains with Over My Shoulder 38 most successful with position from the chart position in the UK fro single of the band.
In 2006, the band released a compilation of recordings that were recorded for the radio show of John Peel. 2008 appeared another studio album, I Am Kloot Play Moolah Rouge. A year later, B was released, a compilation of B-sides and rarities.
On July 16, 2010 their fifth studio album, Sky at Night appeared. The album has been suggested in the category "Best Album of the Year " in the UK for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2010. In the production of the band's musicians Guy Garvey and Craig Potter of Elbow were on hand.
