He was, particularly in the years that he worked at Chess Records, the main songwriter and producer of the Chicago blues. From his pen came some of the classic titles of the genre. On this album, Dixon gathered nine of his songs from the 1950s and 1960s - years and took it with a studio band of major Chicago blues musicians like Walter Horton scratch.
