ID is an influential British fashion magazine, which deals not only with clothes but also intensively with art, music and youth culture.

The magazine is known for innovative photography and typography. Many famous photographers such as Nick Knight, Wolfgang Tillmans, Juergen Teller, Ellen von Unwerth worked for iD or were even known only by the magazine.

A sort of trademark of iD is is that on the front page of every issue of the right eye depicted on models or stars squeezed shut or obscured in any way. Each issue has an existing single-word slogan (about: the art issue, the earth issue, the issue forward, the declaration issue).

ID was founded in 1980 by Terry Jones, who had given up his job in 1977 as an art director of British Vogue, as he wanted to have more to do with music and street culture. Jones acts today as editor of iD. The magazine was published earlier eleven, still six times a year in London publisher Level Print Ltd, which was acquired in December 2012 by Vice UK.

ID is also often written or ID iD magazine, but can not with the New York design magazine ID be confused, are issued by the U.S. publisher F W Publications, Inc..
