History

The written piece by Jackson himself wanted to record with singers like Barbra Streisand or Whitney Houston this first. Aretha Franklin and Agnetha Fältskog also ( ABBA) were considered. But all had other commitments. The Jacksons producer Quincy Jones protege Siedah Garrett came into the game as they had co-wrote Man in the Mirror.

In the original, the song has a longer spoken intro. This was, inter alia, omitted on many compilations and other bathroom items.
