I. E. S. Edwards

Iorwerth Eiddon Stephen Edwards CBE ( born July 21, 1909 in London, † 24 September 1996 ) was a British Egyptologist.

Iorwerth Eiddon Stephen Edwards was initially the most senior Egyptologist at the Department of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities, from 1955 to 1974 director of the now independent Egyptian department of the British Museum in London. His successor was Thomas Garnet Henry James. Edwards was particularly dedicated to the Egyptian pyramids.
