Iain Softley

Iain Softley ( born November 30, 1956 in London, England ) is a British film director and producer.

Life and work

Prior to his career in the film business, he studied at Queens ' College, Cambridge. His debut as director and screenwriter, he was in 1994 with the film Backbeat, where he tracked the early years of the British music group The Beatles and for which he was 1995 Awards with a ALFA Award at the London Film Critics Circle for Best British Newcomer of the Year.

Iain Softley is married to the film producer Sarah Curtis.
