Ian Alsop

Ian Alsop ( born June 14, 1943 in Wembley ) is a retired British racing cyclist and current Mexican cycling coach and bike frame builder.

Even as a junior finished Ian Alsop for UK rail Championships podium. Between 1960 and 1968, he won a total of seven British Championship titles in the disciplines tandem race, two - team travel and team pursuit and numerous other places in the top three. In the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1966 in Kingston, he won the scratch race over ten miles.

Alsop also launched at UCI Track World Championships in the sprint as in the team pursuit, but without medal success. In 1968 he participated in the Olympic Games in Mexico City in part and started there as well in the sprint and team pursuit, but also remained without a medal.

After a dispute with the British Cycling Federation British Cycling Federation Ian Alsop emigrated in 1968 to Mexico, where he (2013 ) is still alive today. There he worked as an national railway coach. He builds bicycle frames for the U.S. company Raysports. Alsop leaves for Mexico to continue racing in the Masters class. The Huntsman World Senior Games 2002 he won in the age group 55-59 gold on a mountain bike.
