Ian Bannen

Ian Bannen ( born June 29, 1928 in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland; † 3 November 1999 Knockies Straight, Loch Ness, Scotland) was a Scottish film and stage actor.

Life

Bannen, son of a Scottish lawyer, served in the British Army and attended Ratcliffe College in Leicestershire. 1947 made ​​his first arrangements on the Dublin stage, before he went to London, and there was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Bannens film debut was in 1951 in the drama Underworld. It was followed by numerous film offers, he played a total of more than 100 productions. His best friends included Richard Harris and Peter O'Toole.

Ian Bannen was married from 1976 until his death with the British Marilyn Salisbury. He died at the age of 71 years as a result of a car accident on Loch Ness.
