Ian Davis (businessman)

Ian Davis ( born 1952 in the UK) was from 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2009, worldwide CEO ( Managing Director, short MD ) of the consulting firm McKinsey. Previously this was Rajat Gupta. The position of the MD is elected for three years by a partner group, a maximum of three terms are possible. In February 2006, Davis was elected for his second term of office, which began on 1 July 2006. In February 2009, Dominic Barton was elected as his successor, who took office in July 2009.

Prior to his role as Managing Director of World Davis headed the London office of McKinsey. He was the first European at the helm of the company for which he works as a consultant since 1979. He studied at Balliol College, Oxford University and worked for seven years in the management of the company Bowater (paper industry ). He is married and has two children.
