Ian Hutchinson (footballer born 1948)

Ian Hutchinson ( * August 4, 1948 in Derby, † 19 September 2002 in London) was an English footballer.

Life and career

Hutchinson began his career in near his hometown of Derby in the lower class club Burton Albion and the detour Cambridge United, he joined in July 1968 for a transfer fee of £ 5,000 for Chelsea. The Englishman was a great and unselfish player and was known for his wide throw-ins. His debut for the " blues " it was against Ipswich Town, where he prepared two goals thanks to his objections. With Chelsea Hutchinson won the 1970 FA Cup. Despite strong performance in his appearances Hutchinson was also known for his many injuries. He broke his foot twice, once the arm and once the toe. The knee problems was also owed, that he could make no contribution to victory in the European Cup winner in 1971 of the blues. This season, Hutchinson came to a total of only four bets. In July 1976 he finished his career. He played 144 times for Chelsea, scoring 58 goals. In September 2002 Ian Hutchinson died aged 54 after a long illness.
