Ian O'Brien

Ian Lovett O'Brien ( born March 3, 1947 in Wellington, New South Wales ) is a former Australian swimmer.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he became Olympic champion in the 200 m breaststroke and placed at the same time with 2:27,8 minutes a new world record. He also won the bronze medal with the 4 × 100 m medley relay of Australians. Four years later, he left in the flow over 200 m breaststroke and then ended his career. In 1985 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
