Life and career
Ian Ziering was born in March 1964 as the youngest of three children of the couple, Paul and Micki Ziering in Newark and grew up in West Orange, New Jersey. At the age of twelve years Ziering was the first time for television commercials before the camera. First acting experience was gained in the role of the Nile in the Broadway musical I Remember Mama, which was performed from May to September 1979 in New York City ..
His first film role was that of Sammy Butterfield in the love drama Endless Love (1981 ) with Brooke Shields in the lead role. This was followed by engagements in television shows such as Guiding Light and Married with Children before Ziering in 1990 landed a starring role in the youth series Beverly Hills, 90210. Through the presentation of Steven "Steve" Sanders Ziering became world famous and he was seen from 1990 to 2000 in a total of 292 episodes in the role.
Since the end of Beverly Hills, 90210 Ziering had several guest appearances in television series such as JAG - The Call of Duty, Hello Holly and CSI: NY.
In spring 2007, Ziering participated in the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars, the U.S. equivalent of the RTL show Let's Dance. With his professional dance partner Cheryl Burke, he made it to the semi-finals.
In addition to his work for television, the actor operates as an agent for cosmetics products.
From 1997 to 2002 Ziering was married to actress Nikki Schieler. In May 2010, Ziering married the nurse Erin Ludwig. His wife gave birth on 25 April 2011, the first child, a daughter, was born.
