iBooks Author

iBooks Author is a program from Apple to the layout of electronic books for the iPad.

The software allows in contrast to conventional desktop publishing programs for the print area, the integration of multimedia content such as videos, photos, graphics and animation in digital books. Direct from the program, the user can publish his work in the iBooks Store. The software is only available for OS X and is available free from the Mac App Store.

Controversially ensured license agreements, permitted the publication of books that have been created with iBooks Author exclusively in the Apple iBooks Store.
