Ibrahim Hazimeh

Ibrahim Hazimeh ( born 1933 in Acre ) is a Palestinian artist who lives in Germany.

Offices and functions

Hazimeh is president of the Palestinian National Committee for Visual Arts at the AIAP / UNESCO. He is also a member and speaker of the Palestinian Union of Artists in Europe.

Biography

In 1948, Ibrahim Hazimeh was expelled with his parents first to Lebanon and then to Latakia in Syria. In Latakia, he worked from 1952 as an art teacher and an accountant. He led a self-study and then a distance learning through at the Paris Art Institute. For his work he received in 1957 in Cairo to Cairo Salon Prize and the Prize exhibition in Damascus. In 1960, he led his art studies at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts, where he was 1963-1967 master pupil, continued and made the final in 1964 with an award of Professor Bernhard Heisig.

Then he held from 1968 in Beirut on. From 1974 he worked as an art therapist in West Berlin. This work, he went to 1993. At the 10th Biennial in 1987, he won the Golden Sail in Kuwait. It was made in 1998, a draft of a stamp issue of Palestine with the motive of his painting Jerusalem after Rain. Five other designs of stamp issue of Palestine followed with the motifs of his paintings in collaboration with the Federal Printing Berlin. At the Grand Prix de l'Exposition 2002 WIPA Palestine scored with his stamp block " Madonna and Child " 3rd place. 2004, the mis- Art Calendar " Palestine 2005 " was issued. In 2005 there was a transfer of he painted portrait painting by Hans -Jürgen Vishnevsky in the Berlin SPD headquarters. He redesigned in 2007, the United Buddy Bears of Palestine, which was first issued in April / May in Cairo and in August in Jerusalem in the company of many artists from 132 countries.
