Reviews

Ico was despite the very good prior reviews not the hoped for success and disappeared a short time later. The game was released in conjunction with the release of Shadow of the Colossus on 14 February 2006 new.

GPL violation

Ico used parts of the libarc library, but not published the source code of the affected site. One of the top GPL rules is, however, that all programs of a derived work under the GPL by licensees may be distributed only if it would also licensed by the terms of the GPL. Since libarc was released under the GPL, Sony should publish the relevant source locations.
