Idriz Seferi

Idriz Seferi (* 1847 in Sefer west of Presevo, † March 25, 1927 ) was a leader of the Albanian national movement.

At a young age he resisted the cultural and economic oppression by the Ottomans. In 1875 he was captured by the Ottoman authorities. After his release, he took part in several Albanian uprisings and was a member of the League of Prizren and the League of Peja, which met in January 1899. As Isa Boletini he was one of the main leaders of the Albanian uprising in 1910 in Kosovo, where Albanians by new taxes began incensed to fight for their rights. Seferi was there involved in the liberation of the city of Ferizaj, Skopje, Kumanovo, Presheve and Gjilan by Ottoman troops. In the fighting in the ravine of Kaçanik from 23 to 29 April 1910, he led 5000 Albanian fighters that there is a nearly 20,000 -strong army of the Ottomans were staying that the uprisings in the end but was able to finish.

The uprisings against the Young Turk government in the spring of 1912, which also Boletini Bajram Curri and were involved were conducted in the highly competitive environment of Ferizaj of Seferi. From October 1912 - during the First Balkan War - he fought with thousands of Albanian soldiers against Serbs in Bujanovac, Kumanovo, Llapi and Gollaku. He is regarded as one of the leaders of the Albanian revolts of 1916, when Kosovo was occupied during World War II by Bulgarian troops.

Idriz Seferi died peacefully in his bed.
