IEC 61030

D ² B ( Domestic Digital Bus, IEC 61030 ) is an IEC standard for a slow multi -master serial bus for home automation applications. It was originally developed by Matsushita and Philips in the 1970s. The D ² B forms a topological ring structure with one master and several slave devices. The order of the slave devices is stored in the master device; when the master device is replaced with another, so it generates an error as long as the sequence has not been stored in the new master device.

The successor to the D ² B is the MOST bus with a larger data width and a higher transfer rate. This has the D ² B almost completely detached.

Properties

  • Bus Type: Fieldbus
  • Topology: ring
  • Master device: 1
  • Slave devices: 61
  • Speed: 5.65 Mbit / s when using a polymer optical fiber = fiber optic ( D2B optical)

Applications

  • The SCART standard features in the version of 1998, a D ² B- connection for communication between video devices.
  • On some vehicles the Mercedes-Benz brand communication of audio and video equipment is based on the D ² B.
