Iffeldorf is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Weilheim -Schongau and a member of the administrative community lake home.

Geography

Iffeldorf lies in the Oberland region about 50 km from Munich in the foothills near the southern end of Lake Starnberg. There is only the district Iffeldorf.

The southern Osterseen to Ameisensee lie in the municipality.

History

Iffeldorf belonged to the secularisation of 1803 to the monastery Wessobrunn. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark whose seat was Iffeldorf. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Religions

In Iffeldorf there is a Catholic parish of St. Vitus, the Kuratie Assumption applies to the next to the parish church of St. Vitus and the Heuwinklkapelle in Nantesbuch.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1978, a small area of the disbanded Township woman Rain was incorporated with about 15 inhabitants.

Coat of Arms Description

The coat of arms shows over blue Wellenschildfuß, reflecting a clover -shaped cut-out silver Seeblatt is a black and red split swash bars in silver, with a blue heraldic lily.

Coat of Arms history

The Wellenschildfuß with the Seeblatt refers to the Set around Iffeldorf Osterseen and the local nature reserve. The heraldic lily, a symbol for Mary, reminiscent of the well-known high baroque Heuwinklkapelle, which was built by Iffeldorf from 1698 from Wessobrunn monastery, right on the outskirts. The black - oblique red bar comes from the coat of arms of the noble height of King Kirchner village, until 1682 the Hofmark Iffeldorf possessed of 1385. From the height Kirchnern Hofmark went over to the monastery Wessobrunn, which exercised the Hofmarksrechte until the secularization (1803 ). The coat of arms leads Iffeldorf since 1980.

There were 1998 in the field of Agriculture and Forestry 11, 188 in the production sector and in trade and transport 135 persons work at the workplace. By Iffeldorf leads the single-track Kochelseebahn of Tutzing to Kochel, which is led by Deutsche Bahn as a Route number 961. The Iffeldorf station is served hourly by regional trains between Tutzing and Kochel, which are extended in the rush hour to Munich Central Station.
