IFK Umeå
IFK Umeå ( Idrottsförening Kamraterna Umeå - Umeå sports camaraderie ) is a sports club from Umeå in Sweden. It was founded on November 6, 1901.
The IFK Umeå 2010 2.000 members and operates weightlifting, skiing, orienteering, athletics, football, boxing, bowling, Bandy and badminton.
Departments
Badminton
The men's team plays since 1994 consistently in the top division. Previously the club had participated in the highest league in the seasons 1977/78 and 1985/86. The IFK Umeå reached three 2nd places ( 2001/02-2003/04 ) and seven third places in the Swedish Championship. On 2 October 1964, the Badminton Department was founded. In the Swedish Olympic team in Sydney were with Jenny Karlsson, Fredrik Bergström and Rasmus Wengberg also three players from Umeå. In 2004 we launched Bergström again at the Olympics. In 1991 a club's sports hall was built.

Football
With the inclusion of Norrland clubs in the Swedish leagues pyramid the football team was one of the founding members of the Division 3 Norra Norrländska, but rose from the start. After four years in the Viertklassigkeit he returned in 1957 in the third division club back, but rose again directly again. This time it lasted only two years until the resurgence and in fifth is kept the club in the third division. In the season of 1963, he remained throughout the course of the season without a win so that he as Table again descended with five points. The reputation as a lift team was strengthened, as the visit lasted on the third highest level of play for the immediate resurgence of only two years.
In the following years, the football team IFK Umeå in the front section of the Fourth League Season established. Several times missed the team as a table runner only just re- return to the second division. From the mid- 1970s, the club slipped into the rear League area and increased in 1979 from Fünftklassigkeit. After four years, he returned in the fourth division and held in the subsequent seasons in the league. As table fourth in the club in 1986 the victim of a league reform and have a fifth league relegated.
At the end of the season 1993 IFK Umeå returned in the fourth division and managed as promoted by a single point on the floor BK as a master direct walkover into the third league. However, the boom was followed by the direct crash, after the immediate re descent missed the team in the following season in the relegation games but also to avoid relegation in the fourth division and even increased in 1998 from the sixth league. After a brief stint in the fifth league in the seasons 2002 and 2003, the club established in the top of the sixth league. At the end of the 2009 the team returned to the Fünftklassigkeit.
The women's team plays in the södra also fünftklassigen Division 4.
Boxing
The interest in boxing took in the 1990s, too, which is why the club in the " Ringside " moved the end of 1996.

In bandy, the club played several seasons in the 1960s in the highest league. On May 15, the Bandyabteilung merged with Bandyabteilung of Sandåkerns SK to IFK / SSK Umeå. In the season 2010/11 IFK Umeå plays in the fourth division Division 2 Norra regions Mellersta.

Hockey
The Hockey section of the club took in the 1960s and 1970s several times during the game operation of Division 1, the then top division of the country, in part. The Hockey Department merged in 1970 with the Sandåkerns SK. A year later arose from the fusion IF Björklöven.
