Ignalina
? Listen Ignalina / i ( German, 18th Century: Ingelin, Polish Ignalino ) is located a Rajongemeinde in northeastern Lithuania, about 90 km northeast of Vilnius. She is a sister city of the North Rhine -Westphalian Buren. The decommissioned Ignalina nuclear power plant is about 45 kilometers from the city of Visaginas in the extreme northeast of the county Ignalina.

The Rajongemeinde ( Ignalinos rajono savivaldybė ) includes the cities Ignalia and Dūkštas (930 inhabitants), the town ( miesteliai ) Mielagėnai, Rimšė and Tverečius, and 726 villages.
