iGoogle

IGoogle was the successor of the personalized home page on the Google search engine, and was released on 30 April 2007. The personalized home page launched by Google, Inc. in May 2005. Updates enabled now to add ( the so-called Google Gadgets ) Feeds and Widgets, so you could be integrated about the Google Reader in iGoogle.

On November 1, 2013 iGoogle been set.

Functions

Users can add gadgets from a specific directory and move them in real time on their iGoogle page and change the settings, similar to the Windows Vista Sidebar and Google Desktop. You can add multiple gadgets, such as the time or the weather. On 25 July 2009, the layout has been fundamentally changed. Additions are a chat box and the function to maximize gadgets. In addition, the tabs have been moved to the left side.

Tabs

Google allows its users to create tabs on the side. Initially, these were limited to six. This limit was lifted in June 2007. It is also possible to move posts between tabs back and forth.

Themes

Since March 2007, it is possible to choose from on a growing number of predetermined " backgrounds " (Themes). Depending on the chosen theme is wallpaper, icons and color schemes change. Setting

On July 4, 2012 Google announced discontinue the Service with effect from 1 November 2013. The reason called Google that the service in times of apps based on Android or Chrome no longer fits the times.
