Igopogo

Igopogo is the name of a sea monster, said to live in Lake Simcoe. In the northeastern part of the lake is named after the Kempenfelt Bay Kempenfelt Kelly.

Description

Igopogo supposedly has a stovepipe -like neck and wearing a dog -like head. The animals are described from 3.50 to 6 meters long.

Sightings

For years Igopogo was spotted again and again. The monster appeared eyewitnesses on the lake or climbed ashore. The descriptions of the eyewitnesses about the appearance of the animal match. The most famous report: 1970 was searching John Kirk, president of the British Columbia Scientific Cryptozoology Club, in the Lake Simcoe after Igopogo. The search was unsuccessful. Two decades later, Kirk and other cryptozoologists were invited to a talk show, in which they also discussed Igopogo. A few months later called a man who had followed the talk show, the cryptozoologists Hepworth on, he claimed he possessed a video of Igopogo and asked if Hepworth and Kirk wanted to view the recordings. The video shows a cameraman and his friend while driving with a racing boat on Lake Simcoe. At the south end of the lake, the boat suffered a breakdown and had to be repaired. After the stern opening a black shadow was directly in front of the boat visible, the perceived and people on the shore at once. Suddenly shot a large animal out of the water on the boat heck terrified the two men and confused the observer on land. The huge animal was supposedly much larger than one of the beaver, which sometimes occur in the Lake Simcoe. The animal just watched the people on the boat and then dived again.

Possible explanations

Many consider Igopogo for a pinniped, at least fit the descriptions of eyewitnesses to a Seehundeähnliches animal. If this assumption proves correct, that would be the proof that seals and sea lions sometimes resettle in lakes.
