Igor Morozov (singer)

Igor Morozov ( * 1948 in Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine) is a Russian- Ukrainian baritone.

Life

Igor Morozov has already appeared as a child in numerous concerts with orchestra, which were transferred partly on the radio. After finishing school in his hometown Morozov was accepted at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. After his diploma he was engaged as leading baritone at the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre. Two years later he was able to go to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where he sang all the major roles of the Italian and Russian compartment in the premiere cast: "Eugene Onegin ", Lionel ( Tchaikovsky's " The Maid of Orleans " ), Jeletzki ( Tchaikovsky's "Pique Dame " ), Robert and layer Haghia ( Tchaikovsky's " Iolanta " ), Figaro ( Gioachino Rossini's " The Barber of Seville" ), Andrei Bolkonsky ( Prokofiev's "War and Peace " ), Ferdinand ( Prokofiev's " betrothal in a Monastery " ), Germont ( Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata ), Silvio ( " Leoncavallo's " Pagliacci "). Morozov sang in Amsterdam, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Palermo, Montpellier, Zurich, Basel, at the Houston Grand Opera and the Boston Festival.

Morozov took over in addition to the classic roles in the operas of Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini and Vincenzo Bellini roles in world premieres and works by Dmitri Shostakovich.
