Igor Novikov (painter)

Igor Alexeyevich Novikov (Russian Игорь Алексеевич Новиков; Igor Alekseevich Novikov, born January 2, 1961 in Tschadyr -Lunga, Moldova Forensic SSR) is a Swiss - Russian nonconformist painter, member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, who lives and works in Switzerland. Life

Igor A. Novikov grew up in Moscow and attended to his father's wish as a child the Ilya Repin - Art School and the School of Fine Arts Moscow. From 1981 he studied at the Art Academy Vasily Surikov, the central Art Institute of the Soviet Union, also in Moscow. In 1987, he graduated with a diploma as a painter. Igor Novikov studied at the Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam, Netherlands After his studies he founded with fellow non- conformist artists' colony Furmanni Alley in Moscow, which attracted many visitors from the West, but was disbanded after four years.
