Igors Savčenkovs

Igors Savčenkovs ( born November 3, 1982 in Ventspils) is a Latvian football player.

Career

Association

Igors Savčenkovs began his career in his hometown, in youth clubs Futbola of Ventspils. In the 2002 season, the tall defender made ​​his debut for the first time in the Virsliga. From 2005 to 2006 Savčenkovs stood at FC Dinaburg Daugavpils under contract. In 2007, he returned to his hometown club for which he remained active in the following five seasons, and won the league and cup double in the very first season. By the end of the contract in 2011, he won two more times the champion title and even the Latvian Cup. For Savčenkovs it should be the most successful period in his career that was marred only by two final defeats in the Baltic League 2009/10 and 2010/11. In the 2012 season he played as a regular in 35 of 36 possible encounters at Skonto Riga and could become a total third time cup winners in Latvia. Since 2013 he is at FC Daugava Daugavpils under contract.

National

Igors Savčenkovs debuted for the Latvian national football team in 2008 against Romania. Another application followed in 2008 by the full-back in the qualifying match for the World Cup in South Africa against Switzerland. In 2012, the hitherto last international match was followed during the Baltic Cup, which he won with the country selection.
