Geography

Location

It is situated in the Low flaming about 35 kilometers southeast of the county town of Luckenwalde.

History

The place was first mentioned in 1205. 1875, the village was almost completely destroyed by fire.

Incorporations

On 31 December 2001, the formerly independent communities Boll Ensdorf, Illmersdorf, Mehlsdorf, Niendorf and Riet village were incorporated to Ihlow.

The municipal council consists of 10 community representatives.

Culture and sights

In the list of monuments in Ihlow and the list of ground monuments in Ihlow are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg cultural monuments.

Structures

Ihlow is the only village in the flaming that achieves a double-headed church tower. Legend has it that the devil is ridden by the church and since then the church has two peaks.

Another point of interest is built in the years 1952/53, half-timbered church in the district Boll Ensdorf. On the 1st of Advent, 2008, the 55 - year anniversary of the church was celebrated. 2007/08 Church of initiative of individuals, was restored by donations and using the work of several companies. The Lusatian Rundschau described this initiative of the inhabitants of Boll Ensdorf as a "miracle of Boll Ensdorf ".
