Life

Ihor Pawljuks mother died 10 days after his birth. He grew up with his maternal grandparents on in the city of Chelm.

Pawljuk studied at the Military Academy at the Institute for Ingénieurie in St. Petersburg, where he began his career as a writer. Because the contents of some of his poems, he was sentenced to hard labor in the taiga. There he continued his seal, filled with longing for his native Ukrainian. From 1986 to 1992 Igor Pavlyuk studied in Lviv at the Faculty of Journalism at the National Ivan Franko University, and worked as a reporter for the religious press and radio.

Since 1987 he lives in Lviv, but has since 2003 a job in Kiev.

He is a participant in the international literature festivals in Estonia, Georgia, Belarus, United States, Poland, Turkey and Ireland. He is also the author of international publications on Volhynia.

His works have been translated into several languages.

Igor Pavlyuk poems have been published in renowned magazines around the world, eg in Envoi, Acumen, The Apple Valley Review, Barnwood International Poetry Mag, Muddy River Poetry Review, Le zaporogue and in Russian in Literary Gazette ( Литературной газете ).
