Iie Sumirat

Iie Sumirat (* November 15, 1950 in Bandung ) is a former Indonesian badminton player.

In 1974, he first drew attention at the All England up. There he was able to advance with Christian Hadinata the men's doubles to the finals, where they but their Indonesian compatriots Tjun Tjun and Johan Wahjudi documents. In the first world championship in badminton in 1977, he won the bronze medal in singles. He was defeated in the semifinals of the later Danish champion Flemming Delfs. In 1978 he won at the Asian Games bronze in men's singles again. A year later, he played a key role in the victory of Indonesia in the Thomas Cup. In the new millennium, he was known as manager of Taufik Hidayat.
