IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia

The IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia and IIHF Women 's Challenge Cup of Asia or IIHF University Challenge Cup of Asia ( also Asian Cup Ice Hockey Championship or Asian ) is an international ice hockey tournament, which has been held since 2008. The tournament is organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF and serves to ensure that national teams of the Asian continent, which do not participate in the Ice Hockey World Championship, have international comparisons with similar playing strong opponents.

Since 2010, in addition to the tournament for the men's national teams, there are also tournaments for national teams of women and universities. 2012 Junior Tournaments in the age classes were held U18 and U20 for the first time. From 2014 the tournament for men will be held in two divisions, the lower power class is referred to as Division 1.

All tournament participants are the national teams of those Asian countries that do not yet participate in the World Championships. Therefore, the strongest Asian organizations - Kazakhstan, Japan, People's Republic of China, South Korea, North Korea - not at the start.
