iiO

IiO is a dance and house act from New York, consisting of music producer and songwriter Markus Moser. The former member, the singer-songwriter Nadia Ali, left the project in 2005 to pursue a solo career. iiO is best known for his hit single "Rapture".

History

The duo iiO arose when the producer Markus Moser was looking for a singer for his productions. Originally called the music project Vaiio, a derivative of laptops Sony Vaio on which the duo was working at the beginning. The prefix " Va " was finally removed to avoid possible legal problems with Sony.

2001 the duo had a successful worldwide hit with " Rapture ", which she published in 2002 as a single. In the UK singles charts the single reached number 2 in Australia and 3rd place After this major success appeared remixes by numerous DJs like Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk and Deep Dish. The follow-up single " At The End" came into the UK charts at number 20

IiO released his debut album Poetica in March 2005. Of these, there were a total of four single releases. None of them reached more placement in the general charts. "Kiss You", however, came in at number three on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play charts, " Is It Love? " even reached number 1

Appeared in 2007, the remix album Reconstruction Time: The Best of iiO Remixed, which includes the single " Rapture 2007". This song was again number 3 on the charts Hot Dance Club Play.
