IJsseldeltastadion

The IJsseldeltastadion is a football stadium in the Dutch city of Zwolle, Overijssel province. In the sports venue of the PEC Zwolle plays its home games. It replaces the old one, Built in 1934 Oosterenkstadion. On June 7, 2012 was Edward van Wonderen from PEC Zwolle known that the FC Zwolle stadium will in future bear the name IJsseldeltastadion.

History

In a City Council meeting on 17 March 2003 it was decided to build a new stadium in Zwolle. In this case, an entire complex with 35,000 square feet of commercial space should not only a stadium arise, but with shops, leisure facilities, a gym, a hotel and a casino with 400 seats to be built. The project was delayed due to local residents protested against the construction. After a referendum was on 12 May 2005 cleared the way for construction. On 11 August 2006, the club reached an agreement with the FC Zwolle stadium development Zwolle on a lease for the stadium. The agreement has a term of 25 years and includes, next to the stadium with 10,500 covered seats, a part of the club house, offices, changing rooms and referees cabins and other rooms.

Construction began on March 9, 2007 and the stadium opening was held on August 29, 2009. The new building is about 40 meters from the site of the old Oosterenkstadion away. The 10,500 seats spread over four separate, covered spectator stands; about four meters are increased. In the corners of the office building, the hotel and casino are located. At the entrances eleven turnstile systems are installed. The business club is spread over two floors. On the first floor of 1,000 square feet is a large room and several smaller rooms. On the second floor there are VIP lounges and a restaurant overlooking the pitch. The floodlighting is not as common today in new construction, integrated into the roof. They perched on four tubular steel poles in the stadium corners. For disabled visitors, special places are on the east grandstand furnished. The visiting fans find their seats on the Südrang. The 600 seats are divided with walls made of Plexiglas. The area may in part 400 and part of 200 seats are separated. Around the stadium there are 1,260 parking spaces for visitors and behind it are six training courses.

In June 2012, the club decided to expand the stadium to 12,000 seats. In the next three to five years should increase capacity to 14,500 seats.
