Ijtihad#Qualifications of a mujtahid

A mujtahid (Arabic مجتهد, muǧtahid DMG ) is an Islamic jurist who has the ability to independently judgment, for ijtihad. In the Twelver Shia it is obtained within the Hawza training. A mujtahid, flocking Muqallidūn around, can attain the rank of Ayatollah here.
