IKVM.NET

IKVM.NET is a free Java implementation for Mono and. NET Framework. IKVM is Free Software released under the zlib license.

It contains the following components:

  • A Java Virtual Machine implemented in. NET
  • A. NET implementation of the Java class library
  • Tools for the compatibility of Java and. NET

With IKVM, it is possible to execute Java bytecode directly in. NET Framework or Mono. The bytecode is " on the fly" converted and exported to the Common Intermediate Language. In contrast to J # which is only a Java syntax for. NET, IKVM.NET NET or Mono is a complete Java framework. Basis.

The main developer is currently Jeroen Frijters. He is technical director of Sumatra software with headquarters in the Netherlands.

The name " IKVM " is a pun on " JVM ", only the two letters were used in addition to J.

Status

Currently supported IKVM.NET Java 1.6 complete with the exception of Swing and AWT.
