Il Balletto di Bronzo

Il Balletto di Bronzo is an Italian progressive rock band that was formed in the late 1960s in Naples.

Band History

The band initially called Battitori Selvaggi and played beat music. After renaming Il Balletto di Bronzo in her debut album appeared in 1970 Sirio 2222 on the psychedelic hard rock could be heard. After line-up changes took place, the founding members Cecione and Cupaiuolo were replaced by Gianni Leone and Vito Manzari. As with Leone was a keyboard player in the band now, her style changed. The second album Ys was published in 1972, was attributable to the progressive rock and is now regarded as classics of the genre. In the early 1970s, it gave the band but no success; they broke up in 1973.

Bandleader Leone was active in the sequence 20 years under the pseudonym Leo Nero as a solo artist. In the 1990s, a compilation of unreleased tracks and an EP with English-language versions of two pieces of Ys published. After Leone in 1995 collaborated with the band Divae, he formed with their new bassist and drummer Romolo Amici Ugo Vantini Il Balletto di Bronzo. With this lineup recorded a live album in 1996, which was published in 1999. With bassist Marco Capozi and drummer Adolfo Ramundo appeared in 2008 a live DVD.
