Il Giardino Armonico ( " The harmonious garden ") is a chamber orchestra and ensemble of historical performance practice

The ensemble was founded in 1985 by graduates of various European music academies in Milan. The repertoire includes mainly music of the 17th and 18th century (Baroque music) and is played on period instruments. Depending on the requirement includes the orchestra 3-30 musicians. The line has the inherent self- contributory as recorder soloist Giovanni Antonini since 1985. Since 1987, the Baroque violinist Enrico Onofri is first concertmaster and violin soloist of the ensemble.

Il Giardino Armonico has played with renowned artists such as Cecilia Bartoli, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Katia and Marielle, Kožená and Viktoria Mullova. Especially for recordings of works by Antonio Vivaldi already received the ensemble several significant prizes. It was on the album " Cecilia Bartoli - The Vivaldi Album " involved, which in 2000 helped the mezzo-soprano to a Grammy Award.
