Ilan Averbuch

Ilan Averbuch ( born 1953 in Tel Aviv, Israel) is an Israeli sculptor.

Life and work

Averbuch studied sculpture in Britain and in the United States. From 1977 to 1978 he was at the Wimbledon School of Art in London and from 1979 until 1981. At the School of Visual Arts in New York In 1982 he received the Rhodes Family Award. He completed his art education from 1983 to 1985 at Hunter College in New York from. From 1985 to 1986 he worked in Berlin.

Many of his works belong to the country style.His materials used were in combination with natural stone, wood, copper, lead, glass and aluminum. Averbuchs works are in public space in collections in the USA, Canada, Israel, India and Europe.

Averbuch lives and works in a former factory building in Long Iceland City ( Queens ) in New York State. Since 1980 he is a lecturer at State University of New York at Stony Brook.
