Ildebrando D'Arcangelo

Ildebrando D' Arcangelo ( born December 14, 1969 in Pescara, Italy ) is an Italian opera singer in the vocal ranges baritone and bass.

Life and work

D' Arcangelo began his vocal studies in 1985 at Maria Vittoria Romano and then continued it in Bologna at Paride Venturi. He sings at renowned opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, at the Opéra National de Paris, at the Lyric Opera in Chicago, at the Vienna State Opera, the theater of Vienna and at the Salzburg Festival.

1989 and 1991 he won the Toti dal Monte International Competition.

In June 2009 he signed a contract in Hamburg with Deutsche Grammophon. On his first CD for this label he sang arias by George Frideric Handel. The CD was released in late August 2009. Another CD with arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was released in late April 2011.
