The Ilfochromeprozess P-3 differs from the normal RA-4 process for color images. It is less durable and more expensive, which is why it is not used as well as in commercial labs. This scan now prefer the slides and print then back to normal photographic paper. Despite the high costs, provide Ilfochrome papers images of excellent color brilliance and lightfastness. This paper is often used by photographers who want to exhibit their photographs.

Ilfochrome saves tedious tasks such as copying on negative film to this eventually auszubelichten to normal color paper and evolve. Through these steps would result inevitably a significant loss of quality, because each film is sensitized something different.
