Life

Ibrahimoglu studied Islamic theology in Qom, then he spent studying in Poland. After the presidential elections in Azerbaijan in 2003, he was imprisoned and prohibit any religious activity. Ibrahimoglu founded after his release, the DEVAMM ( "Centre for the protection of religious freedom " ), an organization which - by its own account - committed to human rights. The agenda of the DEVAMM first was the abolition of the ban on headscarves for women on Azerbaijani passports. For the Government of Azerbaijan Ibrahimoglu is " a problem " because he has the respect and the religious proximity to Iran.
