Ilka Å tuhec

Ilka Štuhec ( born October 26, 1990 in Slovenj Gradec ) is a Slovenian alpine skier. It is regarded as an all-rounder, but is particularly successful in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G.

Biography

2005 won the Trofeo Topolino Štuhec. In December 2005, she performed her first FIS races, a year later, then served in the European Cup. At the European Youth Olympic Festival in February 2007 in Jaca, she won the gold medal in the giant slalom and slalom. A month later, at the Junior World Championships 2007 in Flachau winning the gold medals in slalom and in the combination. Then they could start at the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide, but dropped out. Two weeks later she was Slovenian champion in the downhill and super -G.

In the European Cup season 2007/ 08 Štuhec reached three times and won the third place in Abetone a giant slalom. At the Junior World Championships 2008 in Formigal she sat over against the favorite Lara Gut through and won the gold medal in the downhill. 8 March 2008 Štuhec was 22 departure in Crans- Montana, and thus won their first points in a World Cup race. The following day, she scored as Twelfth super combined her first top 15 result in the World Cup. The end of March, she won all the titles at the Slovenian Championships 2008.

Throughout the 2008/09 season due to injury Štuhec could deny any race. According to a recent knee injury she had to prematurely end the season 2009/10. After a nearly two- year hiatus, she returned late November 2011 back to the World Cup. In the 2012/13 season they reached only individual top-30 results, even more surprising was the sixth place in the Super -G at the World Championships 2013 in Schladming. On November 30, 2013 Štuhec drove in the Super G from Beaver Creek to fourth place and achieved the best ever World Cup result of her career.
