Illinois Route 33

The Illinois State Route 33 ( IL 33 short ) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Illinois.

The State Route 128 starts west of Beecher City at Illinois State Route and ends after 156 kilometers west of Vincennes on U.S. Highway 50

Course

From Beecher City IL 33 runs in an easterly direction and from Shumway together with State Route 32 to Effingham. In the north- west of the city, they meet the route of Interstates 57 and 70 in the center of the city, IL 32 ends at U.S. Highway 40 and the IL 33 uses the route of U.S. 40 with the Fayette Avenue. She also meets U.S. Highway 45 and leaves Effingham in a southeasterly direction.

To the east of Newton, the route of State Route 130 is used for about five kilometers north of Willow Hill branches off Illinois State Route 49 in the direction of north. To the east of the cross with the State Route 1, it happened in the north to Robinson Municipal Airport and from the village of Palestine runs the IL 33 to the south parallel to the Wabash River, the border river to Indiana. In the north of Vincennes it first crosses under U.S. Highway 50, which is developed in this section as Freeway. From the Lincoln Trail State Memorial, it uses the former route of U.S. 50 and results in a northwesterly direction to an exit of the highway.

History

In 1918, the combined IL 33 places Effingham and near Gordon Robinson. After 19 years, the line was extended in 1937 in the east to Palestine on the route of the former State Route 163. In 1941 there was a westward extension to Beecher City. In 1948, the Illinois State Route 33 is a section between Palestine and U.S. Highway 50 west of Vincennes. Following the construction of the U.S. 50 freeway bypass as it leads to the route of the former U.S. Highways to the exit north of the present Lincoln Trail State Memorial.
