Illy (Rapper)

Illy ( born September 5, 1985, real name Al Murray ) is an Australian rapper from Melbourne.

Career

Illy grew up in Melbourne in civil conditions on, his father is a high school teacher, his mother a speech therapist. At age 13, he wrote his own songs and at 17 he performed for the first time. In addition to his Rapkarriere he continued to pursue a university degree and a degree in law at Monash University.

Before Illy in 2009 released his debut album, he was a member of Crooked Eye Rapcrew. Using Long Story Short, however, he could not leave a great impression and only reached an average ranking in the Urban charts. The breakthrough came a year later with the song It Can Wait and the LP The Chase. She received much praise from critics and jumped into the Australian charts at number 25, the song reached gold status. The next album, Bring It Back, which was released after a one-year break, could further increase the success. The ARIA Awards it was awarded as Best Urban Album of the Year. With Heard It All he could bring a song in the Australian top 50 for the first time.

Before 2013 his fourth album was released, Illy founded his own label named Onetwo with the aim to take another young rapper under the contract and to promote and share their own experiences in the music business. As the first publication of the Cinematic LP, with the Melbourne rapper first time pushed forward into the Top 5 of the charts published by the label end of the year.
