Ilves

Tampere Ilves is a sports club from Tampere, Finland, was established in 1931. Represented are the sports of ice hockey, football, futsal, floorball and Ringette at the club.

Hockey

The ice hockey team from Tampere Ilves currently plays in the Liiga. Ilves is obtained with 16 Finnish National Ice Hockey Championships, the most successful team in Finland. The home games are in Finland's oldest ice rink, the Hakametsä discharged.

Two of the most famous former players of the team are Raimo Helminen and Lasse Oksanen. Ilves is also known for its large youth organization. Ilves brings forth many good goalkeepers and attackers.

The women's team of the club won the IIHF European Women Champions Cup 2010/11.

Football

In football, Ilves has won the Finnish Championship ( 1983). Ilves ' football organization focused on women and juniors, as the men's team was combined in 1998 with the club Pallo - Veikot Tampere and Tampere United was called now. However, the idea failed and Ilves is again as an independent club, which now plays in the Ykkönen, the second highest league in Finland.
