Im Kwon-taek

Im Kwon- taek ( born November 2, 1934 in the County of Jangseong -gun, sub-province Zenra - nando, Chosen province, former Japanese Empire, present-day South Korea) is a South Korean filmmaker. He is regarded as the main representative of the South Korean postwar cinema.

His parents let him register until 2 March 1936. Therefore, the false statement of the birthday stirred in many biographies.

Life

Im Kwon- taek grew up in Kōshū on as one of seven children, where he went to high school also. His parents were farmers. At the age of 18 he took another bus to work there ( were fashioned as a bricklayer or in a workshop in the old lace-up boot footwear for the U.S. Army to South Koreans ). He came more by chance and without a lot of initial interest to the film. Friends invited him to perform unskilled labor in return for food and accommodation in Seoul. In 1956, he moved to Seoul, where he was the director Chung Chang- hwa offered work as a production assistant.
